Strength of concrete. Install like timber.

The Reynard Hybrid Sleeper is made from iron ore tailings and hemp fibre. No plastics, no rot, no termites.

From waste
to wood.

Reynard is an Australian-led developer of building materials made from industrial safe-waste. Iron ore tailings and hemp fibre are reinforced into a high-strength composite, then finished to look like antique timber.

The result is a sleeper that's lighter, stronger and safer than the timber it replaces, and keeps mining waste out of landfill. It's designed in Australia and manufactured in China using Australian-sourced materials, with joint research from the University of Southern Queensland.

Yes. The material meets Australian and international standards for garden bed use, approved by University of Southern Queensland Future Materials, a NATA laboratory.

Reynard's project write-ups state extended life cycles of up to 30 years for outdoor structures. It won't rot, and termites and fungus leave it alone.
